About Us 

Welcome to Deer Isle Books and Ephemera, your charming future coastal haven for book lovers in the heart of beautiful Deer Isle, Maine. Founded in 2000, Mike and Betty's story began with a passion for reading, for books, and for unique collectible memorabilia in the Texas Hill Country as Palos Verdes Books and Ephemera - online booksellers. Always a voracious reader, Annette's book story began in North Carolina when she began volunteering and eventually managing her local Friends of the Library Bookstore. When our daughter/granddaughter attended the University of Maine in Orono, we felt an immediate, deep appreciation for the serene beauty of Maine's rugged coastline and made the decision to relocate and follow our dream of establishing a brick and mortar bookstore. Nestled in the picturesque island of Deer Isle, we plan to transition our online bookstore to Deer Isle and hope to create a gathering place for locals and visitors alike who share our love for books, community, and unique ephemera.
